Tags and keywords
The notations that apply to an Internal Block Diagram (IBD) also apply (where relevant) to the internal structure compartment on a Block symbol in a BDD:
SysML-1.6: 'A part or value property is always shown on an internal block diagram with a solid-outline box.'
Here we see the part properties screen:Screen
and speaker:Speaker
shown in both the parts compartment and as symbols in an internal structure compartment. There are pros and cons of each form. One advantage of the symbol form is that one can make connections; another is that in SysML one can expose information about the features of the Type that types a Property on a Property symbol, which very nice capability we'll see used often later during these tutorial trails.
